Free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy, and every Fulton County voter deserves an election system that is secure, professional, and free from political interference.

For nearly 30 years, Aaron has served as the Executive Director or CEO of nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community — helping organizations that feed families, shelter those in need, educate young people, and support youth programs across Atlanta and Fulton County.

That work has always been about protecting opportunity and strengthening our community. Now, Aaron is committed to protecting something just as fundamental: every resident’s right to vote.

In recent years, election deniers and outside political forces have tried to undermine confidence in Fulton County’s elections and insert partisan actors into the process. Aaron will stand firmly against those efforts.

As Commissioner, he will work to ensure Fulton County elections are properly staffed, professionally administered, and fully prepared for early voting, absentee voting, and Election Day operations. He will defend the integrity of our elections and ensure every voter can have confidence that their voice counts.

Fulton County plays a critical role in protecting the health of our communities, yet access to care has become increasingly uneven.

The closure of Atlanta Medical Center removed a major hospital and trauma center from the heart of the city, leaving many neighborhoods with fewer healthcare options and placing additional strain on Grady Hospital and other providers.

Aaron understands these challenges firsthand. Over the course of his career, he has helped lead and manage youth and adult education programs in communities like Summerhill and other historically underserved neighborhoods. Through that work, he has seen the real barriers families face when access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunity are limited.

Aaron believes Fulton County must take a more proactive role in improving public health. That means strengthening support for Grady, expanding access to primary care and mental health services, and working with community partners to address the large health gaps that exist between neighborhoods just a few miles apart.

Healthier neighborhoods mean stronger families, safer communities, and greater opportunity for everyone.

The crisis at the Fulton County Jail is one of the most serious challenges facing county government.

Years of mismanagement, overcrowding, and neglect have created unsafe and unacceptable conditions. Fulton County is now operating under a federal consent decree that requires major reforms to bring the jail into compliance with constitutional standards.

Aaron believes the focus must be on fixing the system and restoring accountability. The jail must be safe for everyone inside it — including the detention officers and staff who work there every day and the individuals being held in custody.

Through his decades of community work, Aaron has seen firsthand how failures in the system ripple through families and neighborhoods. He has seen what happens when a parent is jailed for a minor offense and an inability to pay a small fine — sometimes as little as a couple hundred dollars. A lost job leads to the loss of housing and stability, and the consequences fall hardest on children and families.

Aaron has spoken with families, criminal defense attorneys, and even police officers who all say the same thing: the system isn’t working the way it should.

It’s time to fix it.

Innovative counties are shifting from asking “how many meals did we serve?” to “how long can residents safely remain in their homes?” Aaron will enact policies that help seniors remain healthy, connected, and independent.

Aaron will support transportation assistance like our Common Courtesy senior rides program. He will back social connection and technology access initiatives. And he will also invest in caregiver support, because we need to recognize them as the heroes that they are.

The best counties in America pass laws that help seniors avoid preventable falls, social isolation, hospitalizations, early nursing home placements and other bad outcomes.

Libraries are not just for books. Aaron understands that they are community centers that can serve residents in a number of ways. Here’s how: 

First, libraries are workforce development centers. Through job coaching, resume support, and certification pathways, they can become a first step to a new career. 

Second, they can be a nexus for digital inclusion. Hotspot and laptop lending programs are key. We’ll also invest in senior digital literacy so that no one is left behind by technological innovation. 

Finally, they will serve entrepreneurs and small businesses. Let’s build the knowhow of our local accelerators and universities into our library system.

We have a mandate as a community to be humane and help those in need. Further, Aaron recognizes that investments into mental health save taxpayers millions by avoiding unnecessary ER visits, incarcerations, and more.

Here in Fulton, we have great programs through PAD, our mobile care units, and our Crisis Center. As Commissioner, Aaron would grow these investments while along the way demanding greater accountability. 

Aaron would also bring in co-responder programs. He wants clinicians and police officers responding to relevant calls together. And then Aaron will build out a data dashboard. One that tracks long term outcomes like ER and jail diversions all the way through to employment outcomes and housing stability.
